The Damascus Securities Exchange recorded financial transactions exceeding 8.478 million new Syrian Pounds during Sunday's session. The total trading volume reached 225,190 shares, according to the daily bulletin issued by the Exchange's official website.
Major bank shares rise
Bank shares witnessed notable gains, as Bemo Saudi Fransi Bank share rose by 4.94% at a price of 12.10 lira. Al Baraka Bank share also climbed by 0.13% at a price of 15.3 lira, and National Credit Bank share increased by 4.82% at 10.43 lira, with active trading for these shares.
Rise in Transport and Oil Company Stocks
The gains were not limited to banks; the share of Al-Ahliya Transport Company rose by 1.05%, with 3,975 shares traded at 143.91 Lira. Similarly, the share of Al-Ahliya Vegetable Oils Company climbed by 4.14%, with 575 shares traded at 339.95 Lira.
Decline in shares of other banks
In contrast, some bank shares saw a decline, most notably Qatar National Bank (QNB) stock by 4.59% to 19.59 lira. International Bank for Trade and Finance (IBTF) stock also dropped by 2.43% to 15.28 lira, and Fransabank stock declined by 3.32% to 15.43 lira.
Al-Badia Cement share declined
The declines also included Al-Badia Cement Company's share, which fell by 0.31% to close at 648.03 lira. These shares witnessed notable trading during the session, reflecting the varied general performance in the market.
Untraded shares compared to the previous session
Several shares remained untraded during Sunday's session, including multiple banks, insurance companies, and telecommunications firms. It is noteworthy that last Wednesday's session was more active, with trades exceeding 31.639 million Syrian Pounds and a volume of 606,174 shares.
