Damascus Securities Exchange: 11.9 Million SYP Trading Value on Sunday

Sunday's trading session at the Damascus Securities Exchange saw significant activity in both value and volume, with shares of several banks and companies rising.

The daily bulletin issued by the Damascus Securities Exchange reported that the trading value in Sunday's session reached 11.942 million new Syrian Pounds. The total trading volume during the session amounted to 525,605 shares.

Bank Shares Rise

The session witnessed a rise in the shares of several banks. Al Baraka Bank's stock climbed by 4.45 percent to close at 117.60 Syrian Pounds after 170,392 shares were traded. Qatar National Bank's stock also rose by 4.66 percent to close at 22.03 Syrian Pounds, and Bank of the East's stock increased by 1.59 percent to close at 20.48 Syrian Pounds.

Additional Gains in the Banking Sector

Bemo Saudi Fransi Bank's stock recorded a 4.96 percent increase, closing at 15.23 Syrian Pounds, while the International Bank for Trade and Finance's stock rose by 4.98 percent to close at 15.45 Syrian Pounds. Fransabank's stock climbed by 4.97 percent to close at 15.43 Syrian Pounds, and National Credit Bank's stock increased by 4.96 percent to close at 11.84 Syrian Pounds.

Al Badia Cement Stock Rises

In another sector, Al Badia Cement Company's stock rose by 2.56 percent, closing at 676.88 Syrian Pounds per share, after 3,310 shares were traded during Sunday's session.

Some Company Shares Decline

Conversely, the National Islamic Bank's stock fell by 4.84 percent to close at 19.41 Syrian Pounds. Al-Ahliyah for Transport Company's stock also declined by 5 percent to close at 127.43 Syrian Pounds, and Al-Ahliyah for Vegetable Oils' stock decreased by 4.75 percent to close at 286.50 Syrian Pounds.

Untraded Shares

Shares of several banks and companies saw no trading activity during today's session, including Syria International Islamic Bank, Al Sham Bank, Syria and Overseas Bank, Shahba Bank, Syria and Gulf Bank, Arab Bank, Al Aqila Takaful Insurance, United Insurance, Syrian National Insurance, Cooperative Insurance Union, United Group for Publishing, Syriatel, and MTN Syria.

Previous Session's Trading

It is worth noting that the Damascus Securities Exchange's trading in last Thursday's session recorded a value of 6.359 million Syrian Pounds, with a trading volume of 337,656 shares, according to the daily bulletin issued by the exchange.
