Syria's exchange markets witnessed today, Tuesday, stability in the price of the Syrian Pound against the US Dollar, while gold prices recorded a slight decline.

Syria's exchange markets today, Tuesday, 05-05-2026, witnessed stability in the exchange rate of the Syrian Pound against the US Dollar. This stability coincides with a slight decline in gold prices within the country, according to the Syrian Pound Today website.

Syrian Pound Exchange Rate in the Markets

The Syrian Pound recorded a buying price of 13330 pounds and a selling price of 13400 pounds against the US Dollar in the markets of Damascus, Aleppo, and Idlib. In the Hasakah market, the buying price reached 13350 pounds, while the selling price remained at 13400 pounds per dollar.

Central Bank of Syria Bulletin

The Central Bank of Syria issued its bulletin dated 04-05-2026, setting the exchange rate of the US dollar at 11300 Syrian Pounds for the old currency, and 113 Syrian Pounds for the new currency. These rates apply to operating banks, exchange companies and offices, in addition to external remittances and individuals.

Turkish Lira price

In Damascus market, the exchange rate of the Turkish Lira against the Syrian Pound reached 293 pounds for buying and 296 pounds for selling. The Turkish Lira also recorded 45.22 against the US Dollar, and its exchange rate reached approximately 52.89 against the Euro.

Gold prices today

Gold prices in Syria witnessed a slight decline, with the price of one gram of 18-karat gold reaching 1,479,000 Syrian Pounds. Meanwhile, the price of one gram of 21-karat gold reached 1,726,000 Syrian Pounds in today's trading.

Details of Market Price Differences on May 5

The dollar was recorded in Damascus, Aleppo and Idlib at 13,330 Syrian pounds for buying and 13,400 for selling, a spread of 70 pounds. In Hasakah, the buying rate was 13,350 and the selling rate was 13,400, producing a narrower spread of 50 pounds.

For gold, one gram of 21-karat gold reached 1,726,000 pounds, compared with 1,479,000 for 18-karat gold, a difference of 247,000 pounds per gram. This gap reflects the different karats and recorded prices and does not alone represent a buyer's profit or loss.
